This travel nursing role offers exposure to a diverse pediatric post-anesthesia care environment, uniquely situated in an academic medical center and Level 1 Trauma facility. Through collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, working alongside dedicated leadership, and adapting to varied surgical specialties, you'll enhance your clinical expertise and broaden your perspective—assets that set your nursing resume apart. Schedule/Hours:
- Full-time, travel assignment
- Specific shift details provided during the interview process
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Current RN license with at least 1 year of pediatric critical care experience (2 years preferred)
- Prior completion of at least one travel assignment
- Certifications: BLS and PALS required
- Proficient in: pediatric PACU care, telemetry monitoring, managing ICU gtts (heparin, insulin, occasional cardiac), teamwork in open unit settings, and use of EPIC, Alaris, Omnicell, and Philips Monitoring
- Adaptability—occasional adult patient care required
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver attentive post-anesthesia care to pediatric patients ages 0-17
- Manage RN-patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 as acuity requires
- Collaborate with PACU educators, transporters, and anesthesia teams
- Engage in all-hands teamwork to support open bay unit operations
- Ensure quality telemetry monitoring and timely interventions
