Deliver exceptional post-anesthesia care and make an impact in a dynamic healthcare environment. An experienced Registered Nurse is needed for the Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) on a contract basis. This role requires a commitment to patient safety and comfort during the crucial recovery period following surgical procedures.

Key Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Proven experience in PACU or critical care nursing settings
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
  • Strong assessment, monitoring, and clinical documentation skills
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Compassionate communication skills with patients and families
  • Proficient with electronic health records and PACU protocols

Schedule:

  • Contract basis with flexible scheduling aligned to PACU needs

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor patients as they awaken from anesthesia, assessing vital signs and level of consciousness
  • Respond promptly to changes in patient condition, taking rapid and appropriate interventions
  • Provide detailed hand-off reports to inpatient units or family members as needed
  • Collaborate with anesthesia providers and surgical teams to assure optimal patient recovery
  • Educate patients and families about post-procedure care and discharge instructions
  • Maintain aseptic technique and adhere to infection control standards at all times
