In this role, you’ll immerse yourself in an advanced PeriAnesthesia Care Unit setting, gaining hands-on exposure to a diverse caseload and collaborating with esteemed surgical and PACU leaders.
Being part of a high-volume, tertiary care center, you’ll work with complex, high-acuity cases across neuro, thoracic, vascular, orthopedic, trauma, and pediatric specialties. The rotation through several shift options and departments, including occasional assignments in Moakley PACU, guarantees continuous skill expansion and deeper clinical insight.
Schedule/Hours:
- 12-hour rotating shifts—36 hours/week
- Shifts may include: 6a-6:30p, 7a-7:30p, 8a-8:30p, 9a-9:30p, 10a-10:30p, 11a-11:30p
- Every 3rd weekend and every 3rd holiday (as needed)
- No on-call requirement
Qualifications:
- Active RN license with at least 2 years’ strong PACU (Phase 1) experience
- Pediatric PACU experience required
- Proven competency in reading/interpreting telemetry and identifying heart blocks; must pass Tele test (84%+)
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
- TNCC certification preferred; experience with trauma, cardiac cath, IR, EP strongly preferred
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive post-anesthesia care to an average of 30-60 patients/day
- Manage pediatric, trauma, neuro, vascular, orthopedic, and complex surgical cases
- Float to Moakley PACU as needed
- Ensure top-tier patient safety and rapid recovery
