Deliver excellent post-anesthesia care in a dynamic clinical environment. This contract position requires a skilled RN with PACU experience to provide exceptional patient-focused recovery management alongside a talented healthcare team. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring patient safety and comfort during the critical post-surgical period.

Qualifications:

  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Demonstrated experience in a PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit) or similar unit
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Strong knowledge of surgical procedures, anesthesia recovery, and pain management protocols
  • Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Effective communication abilities with patients, families, and interdisciplinary staff
  • Ability to respond calmly and efficiently in emergent situations

Key Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and assess patients as they recover from anesthesia, recognizing complications and intervening promptly
  • Administer medications, monitor vital signs, and manage medical equipment according to provider orders
  • Collaborate with surgical, anesthesia, and support staff to ensure seamless transitions in care
  • Document patient responses, interventions, and changes in status accurately
  • Educate patients and families regarding recovery expectations and discharge instructions
  • Uphold infection control, patient privacy, and quality assurance standards at all times
