This specialized nursing role offers the chance to deliver high-quality patient care in a dynamic post-anesthesia care unit (PACU) environment. As a Registered Nurse with PACU experience, you will be responsible for monitoring and supporting patients as they awaken from anesthesia following surgery or procedures. This contract opportunity is ideal for professionals devoted to patient safety, rapid assessment, and post-operative healing.

Qualifications:

  • Active, unencumbered RN license
  • Proven experience in PACU or similar critical care nursing settings
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification required
  • Proficient in quickly assessing and responding to patient needs post-anesthesia
  • Strong ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including anesthesiologists and surgeons
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills
  • Competency in IV therapy, airway management, and monitoring vital signs

Key Responsibilities:

  • Closely monitor patients’ recovery from anesthesia, assessing and documenting vital signs and pain levels
  • Respond promptly to changes in patient condition, administering appropriate interventions as needed
  • Provide clear post-operative instructions and emotional support to patients and their families
  • Communicate patient updates and progress to the surgical team and other healthcare staff
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment, in compliance with all facility protocols
  • Participate in ongoing quality improvement and safety initiatives

$1,935 - $2,040/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 40 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
