Hospital Registered Nurse - PACU | San Mateo, California

Deliver compassionate post-anesthesia care and support in a dynamic recovery environment as a registered nurse within the PACU (Post Anesthesia Care Unit). This contract opportunity is ideal for experienced RNs who excel in fast-paced clinical settings and are committed to providing high-quality recovery care for surgical patients.

Desired Qualifications:

• Current, unencumbered RN license (state of assignment)
• At least one year of recent PACU experience preferred
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
• Demonstrated skills in patient assessment, airway management, and pain control
• Ability to remain calm and provide excellent care in emergent situations
• Familiarity with electronic medical records systems
• Strong communication, teamwork, and multi-tasking abilities

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess patients emerging from anesthesia, ensuring safety and comfort
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Recognize and respond to changes in patient condition with appropriate interventions
• Collaborate with anesthesia providers, surgeons, and multidisciplinary teams
• Document all care provided and patient responses accurately in the EMR
• Educate patients and their families about post-operative care expectations
• Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient PACU environment
