This unique assignment places you in a high-acuity Pediatric PACU environment within a large academic medical center. With a 20-bay unit handling 30–40 pediatric patients daily (primarily ages 0–17), you’ll be exposed to a wide array of surgical specialties and advanced care techniques, enriching your professional experience. The institution’s Level 1 Trauma and Stroke Center designations ensure exposure to top-tier leadership, collaborative care models, and the latest evidence-based practices—enhancing your résumé and skill set for future roles.
Schedule/Hours:
- Full-time travel opportunity (specific hours to be provided during offer stage)
Desired Qualifications:
- Active RN license with BLS & PALS certifications
- Minimum of 1 year pediatric critical care nursing (2 years preferred)
- At least one prior travel assignment completed (first-time travelers not accepted)
- Prior PACU or ICU experience a plus
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and comfort with common ICU infusions (heparin, insulin)
Key Duties:
- Deliver safe, patient-centered care to primarily pediatric surgical and post-anesthesia patients; occasional adult care per unit needs
- Collaborate within a team-oriented, open-bay environment utilizing an “all hands on deck” approach
- Manage patient monitoring, medication administration, and coordinate with anesthesia & transport teams
- Document care using EPIC, operate Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, and Philips monitors
- Participate in facility and unit-specific orientations, with support from PACU educators and dedicated leadership
