Hospital Registered Nurse - PACU | Viper, Kentucky

Deliver exceptional postoperative care to patients recovering from anesthesia in a dynamic and supportive environment. As an RN specializing in PACU, you’ll play a critical role in patient safety and comfort during the vital recovery phase after surgical procedures.

Key Qualifications:

• Active and unencumbered RN license
• Previous experience in Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) nursing required
• Strong assessment, monitoring, and critical thinking skills
• Ability to identify and respond swiftly to complications or emergencies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities for patient and family interaction
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications

Primary Responsibilities:

• Closely monitor patients as they recover from anesthesia, responding promptly to changes in condition
• Administer medications as ordered, tracking effects and reporting concerns to the care team
• Provide clear, compassionate post-operative education to patients and families
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and other healthcare professionals to ensure cohesive care
• Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses thoroughly and accurately in medical records
• Maintain vigilance for signs of pain, respiratory distress, bleeding, or other post-anesthetic complications
