Qualifications

• Active RN license required
• At least 1 year of critical care pediatric nursing experience (2 years preferred)
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment
• Current BLS and PALS certifications
• Ability to manage ICU-level medication drips (heparin, insulin, some cardiac drips)
• Experience with telemetry monitoring and pediatric post-op care
• Team-oriented mindset, comfortable in an open-bay setting
• Flexible to occasionally care for adult patients as needed

Primary Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality care to pediatric patients (ages 0-17), both inpatient and outpatient, recovering from a variety of surgical procedures
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 depending on acuity
• Monitor telemetry and administer medications via EMR (EPIC), Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell dispensing systems
• Collaborate with dedicated transporters, reception staff, PACU educators, and charge nurses for optimal patient care
• Occasionally float within the unit to assist with adult patient care as staffing needs arise
