This opportunity places you in an esteemed academic medical center, recognized for its Level 1 Trauma and teaching hospital distinction. With frequent interactions among cross-disciplinary teams and exposure to innovative pediatric care approaches, you’ll sharpen your clinical expertise while enhancing your adaptability. You’ll collaborate with passionate professionals, observe distinctive leadership styles, and expand your resume by working with complex cases typical of major children’s hospitals.

Schedule & Hours:

  • Night shift: 7p–7a
  • Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
  • No on-call requirement
  • Travelers work approximately 75% of holidays
  • Schedule set every 6 weeks

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert nursing care to pediatric patients with diagnoses such as leukemia, sickle cell crisis, cystic fibrosis, and both acute and chronic adolescent conditions.
  • Manage central lines and administer chemotherapy per established protocols.
  • Apply strong pediatric assessment and critical thinking skills throughout patient care.
  • Routinely float between pediatric acute care and pediatric hem/oncology units, excluding ED.
  • Collaborate with CNAs, phlebotomists, respiratory therapists, and resource nurses.
  • Utilize EMR (Epic), Alaris IV pumps, and Omnicell medication dispensing systems.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, ensuring effective communication and continuity of care.

Qualifications:

  • Valid RN license and BLS certification; PALS preferred.
  • Minimum one year of acute pediatric or pediatric hem/oncology experience, depending on assignment.
  • Confident with chemo administration and central line care.
  • Strong pediatric background—first-time travelers welcomed if pediatric experience is solid.
