Qualifications:

  • Current RN licensure with eligibility to practice
  • Minimum of one year of recent experience in a PICU or comparable pediatric critical care setting
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Excellent assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to interdisciplinary care
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress, fast-paced clinical situations

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct, evidence-based nursing care to critically ill children and support their families through education and advocacy
  • Monitor patient status, interpreting vital signs, lab results, and other data to prioritize and adjust care as needed
  • Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and ancillary staff to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Manage pediatric emergencies with proficiency, including rapid response to changes in patient condition
  • Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with facility and regulatory standards
  • Serve as a resource for patients, families, and colleagues, demonstrating empathy and professionalism at all times
  • Adhere to infection control and patient safety guidelines
