Registered Nurse - PICU - Burnsville, Minnesota

Advance your nursing career in a specialized pediatric intensive care role, where you’ll deliver high-quality, family-centered care to infants, children, and adolescents. This contract opportunity requires adaptability and dedication, as RNs will float between three hospitals as needed. Nurses are integral to the multidisciplinary team, working collaboratively to optimize patient outcomes.

Schedule & Hours

• 12-week assignment
• Full-time options: 0.9 FTE (3x12, 36 hours/week) or 1.2 FTE (4x12, 48 hours/week)
• 12-hour shifts: 7:00am–7:30pm or 7:00pm–7:30am
• Straight days, straight nights, or rotating schedules available
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call responsibilities

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Active MN RN license or MN Temporary Permit-RN
• Current BLS and PALS certification
• Minimum 18 months PICU nursing experience, including care for pre- and post-operative PICU surgical and trauma patients, or 18 months pediatric CVICU nursing experience with competency in cardiac patient care
• Flexibility to float across units as needed (PICU, CVICU)
• Professional, compassionate demeanor and strong communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide and coordinate comprehensive family-centered nursing care to pediatric patients
• Utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized care
• Demonstrate accountability for professional practice and independently perform nursing functions
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, ensuring seamless communication and care transitions
• Ensure a safe, supportive environment for patients and families

$2,967 - $3,128/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 40 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
