Registered Nurse - PICU (RN) in Des Moines, IA

Qualifications and Experience:

• Current RN license in good standing
• Experience working in a PICU environment
• Proficient in pediatric critical care standards, protocols, and equipment
• Strong assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• BLS and PALS certifications required
• Ability to effectively collaborate with a multidisciplinary care team
• Dedicated to providing developmentally appropriate, family-centered care

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct, evidence-based care to critically ill pediatric patients
• Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and adjust interventions as needed
• Assist in emergency situations, responding rapidly and effectively
• Educate and support patients and families regarding conditions and treatments
• Document patient status and care interventions thoroughly and accurately
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and ancillary staff
• Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment in the PICU
