Registered Nurse - PICU (RN) in West Des Moines, IA

Deliver exceptional pediatric care as a Registered Nurse in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) setting. Qualifications:

• Current and unrestricted RN license
• Minimum of one year experience working in a PICU or similar acute pediatric care environment
• Advanced knowledge of pediatric critical care protocols, including ventilator management, medication administration, and emergency interventions
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications
• Strong communication and collaboration skills with a multidisciplinary team
• Ability to remain calm and focused in high-stress, fast-paced situations

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients by implementing care plans and monitoring patient progress
• Administer medications, infusions, and other prescribed treatments, consistently maintaining accurate documentation
• Respond promptly to changes in patient condition and participate in emergency interventions as required
• Collaborate closely with physicians, respiratory therapists, and ancillary staff to ensure a cohesive approach to patient recovery
• Educate families on pediatric health issues, treatments, and ongoing care with empathy and professionalism
• Uphold safety and infection control standards at all times
