Psych Registered Nurse (RN) in Montgomery, LA

Qualifications:

• Active and unrestricted RN license
• Recent experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing
• Strong knowledge of mental health assessments, treatment plans, and crisis intervention methods
• Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing, with patients, families, and interdisciplinary teams
• Proficient in de-escalation techniques and therapeutic patient interactions
• CPR certification and up-to-date immunizations

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care for psychiatric patients, including medication administration and monitoring
• Assess mental health status, document findings, and collaborate in development of individualized care plans
• Support patients during crisis episodes with evidence-based intervention
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals
• Educate patients and families on treatment goals and coping strategies
• Maintain detailed and accurate clinical records in accordance with regulatory standards
• Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to care planning and review
