Travel Psychiatric Nurse (RN) | Prospect, Kentucky

Schedule/Hours:

• 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
• Weekend rotation every other week
• No on-call requirements
• Holiday shifts as needed per unit schedule

Responsibilities:

• Deliver compassionate nursing care to adults experiencing conditions such as depression and anxiety, including patients under long-term guardianship
• Manage a caseload with a maximum 1:10 RN-to-patient ratio; often supported by Mental Health Techs
• Remain adaptable and able to float to children/adolescents’ units if needed
• Efficiently chart using Cerner EMR and manage medication via Omnicell
• Participate in ongoing crisis prevention training (CPI provided on-site)
• Foster a safe, calm, and therapeutic environment—especially when helping manage escalated situations

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license and BLS certification required
• CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) training completed on site
• Minimum 6 months’ RN experience; first-time travelers encouraged to apply
• Compassion, patience, and excellent communication skills
• Experience in psych or behavioral health settings preferred
