Seeking a dedicated registered nurse with expertise in psychiatric care to provide high-quality patient support in a behavioral health setting. This contract role focuses on delivering compassionate, safe, and effective nursing interventions for individuals facing mental health challenges.
Qualifications:
- Current, active RN license in good standing
- Demonstrated experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Familiarity with crisis intervention techniques and de-escalation strategies
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
Responsibilities:
- Assess mental health needs and collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement care plans
- Administer medications and monitor patient responses, noting behavioral and physical changes
- Provide supportive, therapeutic interventions—both group and individual—to help patients cope with mental health issues
- Maintain clear, accurate documentation of care delivered and patient progress
- Educate patients and families on mental health topics, medication regimes, and available resources
- Respond promptly to emergencies, ensuring patient and staff safety
