Seeking an experienced RN with a passion for psychiatric care to provide support in a dynamic adolescent behavioral health setting. This contract position requires strong clinical skills and adaptability, working with patients experiencing a variety of behavioral challenges in a facility committed to employee safety and patient well-being.
Schedule:
- 3x12 hour shifts per week
- Weekend rotation every third weekend
- No on-call required
- Holiday expectations based on scheduled days
- 5 days of approved time off available
Qualifications:
- Current RN license and BLS certification required
- Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment with the submitting agency
- Minimum of 6 months of psychiatric RN experience
- CPI certification (obtained onsite; must be able to execute physical interventions)
- Prior experience with de-escalation, milieu management, and restraint/seclusion procedures
- Comfortable administering IM medications and managing escalated patient behaviors across a wide range of ages
- Proficient in using Cerner EMR and Omnicell medication dispensing
- Flexible and comfortable with floating between units, including working with both children and adults
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver compassionate care to adolescents experiencing aggression, impulsivity, self-harm, trauma, and complex placements
- Respond actively to behavioral crises, employing de-escalation techniques and performing physical holds/restraints when necessary
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams including therapists, case managers, and security staff
- Maintain accurate patient records and technology use (Cerner and Omnicell)
- Adapt to frequent operational changes as needed to promote safety
