Travel Psych Nurse (RN) in Shepherdsville, KY

Schedule:

• 3 x 12-hour shifts per week
• Weekend rotation: every other
• No on-call requirements
• Holiday shifts as needed based on unit demand

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate care to adolescent patients (ages 14-18) facing mental health crises, including those with suicidal ideation, self-injurious behaviors, ODD, bipolar disorder, and aggression
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team—including mental health techs, therapists, case managers, and security staff—to maintain a safe and therapeutic environment
• Participate in crisis intervention and de-escalation; on-the-job training provided
• Utilize EMR (Cerner), medication dispensing (Omnicell), and patient safety equipment (restraint beds, chairs, and seclusion rooms)
• Float as needed within the pod; possible assignments in both adult and pediatric behavioral units

Qualifications:

• Minimum 6 months recent experience as an RN in a psychiatric, behavioral health, or similar setting
• Active RN license
• BLS certification
• Adaptability and strong commitment to patient-centered care
