School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Camarillo, California

Step into a vital role supporting student health and wellness across a diverse school district, focusing on grades TK–8. This contract opportunity is ideal for registered nurses passionate about pediatric care and eager to collaborate within an educational environment.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide district-wide general nursing support for students in transitional kindergarten through eighth grade.
• Deliver hands-on diabetic care, including precise carb counting and education, for young students.
• Assist students with ventilator and tracheostomy needs; certification or significant experience in this area highly preferred.
• Collaborate closely with other school nurses and district healthcare staff to coordinate care and uphold health protocols.
• Respond to various medical concerns and emergencies throughout the school day.
• Maintain accurate records of student visits, treatment plans, and physician orders in accordance with district policies and HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in good standing required.
• Demonstrated expertise in pediatric diabetic management, particularly carb counting for children.
• Vent and trach experience or relevant certification is highly preferred.
• Prior nursing experience within a school setting is a strong asset.
• Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve a diverse student population.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary environment.
• Compassion, adaptability, and a proactive approach to student health.
