Registered Nurse School Setting - Hampton, VA

Support students’ health and wellness in a dynamic educational setting as a Registered Nurse for a local school. In this contract role, you will provide essential care and health services to students with diverse medical needs, fostering a safe and supportive environment that enables learning and growth.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

• Current and unrestricted RN license
• Previous experience in a school setting highly preferred
• Proficiency with tracheostomy (Trach) care and interventions is required
• Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams
• CPR and current immunizations

Responsibilities:

• Deliver daily nursing care and health supervision to students, including those requiring specialized procedures (trach, medication administration, diabetic monitoring, etc.)
• Assess and respond appropriately to health emergencies and injuries on campus
• Educate school staff and families on student-specific health plans and general wellness topics
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with state regulations
• Participate in the development and review of Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and Section 504 plans
• Support and implement infection control procedures and public health guidelines
