School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Hampton, Virginia

Deliver critical care and support to students in an educational environment, making a meaningful impact on their daily lives. This contract role is designed for a Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in school settings and skilled in tracheostomy care. Collaborate with school staff, students, and families to promote a safe, healthy learning atmosphere.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active RN license in good standing
• Prior experience as a school nurse preferred
• Proficiency in tracheostomy care is required
• Pediatric, adolescent, or special needs nursing background highly valued
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and respond effectively in emergencies

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and health monitoring for students with acute, chronic, or special healthcare needs—including trach management and monitoring
• Develop and implement individualized health care plans in collaboration with educators and families
• Manage medication administration, routine procedures, and emergency care as required
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation in compliance with regulatory standards
• Act as a health resource for students, faculty, and families to ensure a supportive and safe environment
• Participate in IEP/504 meetings, school safety drills, and wellness programs as appropriate
• Educate staff and students on best health practices, infection control, and allergy management
