School Registered Nurse | Oxnard, California

Make a meaningful impact in the lives of students across transitional kindergarten through eighth grade as a registered nurse in a school district setting. This contract position focuses on delivering comprehensive nursing care to students, supporting their health needs, and collaborating with school healthcare teams.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 8:00 am to 4:00 pm

Key Qualifications:

• Current and valid RN license
• Strong background in diabetic care, especially carb counting for young children
• Experience or certification in ventilator and tracheostomy care highly preferred
• Prior experience working in a school environment highly preferred
• Bilingual abilities are a significant plus
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills
• Ability to work across multiple locations within the school district

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care and support to TK-8 students district-wide
• Manage students’ chronic health needs, with an emphasis on diabetes management
• Assist with medical procedures, including vent/trach care when applicable
• Collaborate closely with other school nurses, educators, and staff to ensure safe, coordinated care
• Educate students, families, and staff on healthcare issues and best practices
• Accurately document care provided and maintain up-to-date health records
• Respond to emergencies and support general medical needs as they arise
