Support the health and well-being of students across a school district in Oxnard, CA, as a Registered Nurse skilled in school nursing. This contract role offers a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, serving grades TK through 8. The position focuses on providing comprehensive nursing care district-wide, with an emphasis on managing diabetes and other medical needs within the student population.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver skilled nursing care to students, addressing a variety of medical conditions.
- Provide specialized diabetes management, including carb counting for young children.
- Collaborate closely with school nurses across the district to ensure consistent care.
- Support students requiring ventilator and tracheostomy care; experience or certification in these areas is highly preferred.
- Assist in creating and implementing individualized health plans for students.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid RN license with demonstrated experience in school nursing.
- Strong expertise in diabetes care, particularly pediatric diabetes management.
- Vent and trach care experience or certification is highly preferred.
- Previous experience working in a school setting is highly desirable.
