School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Port Hueneme, California

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday
• 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Key Qualifications:

• Valid RN license
• Extensive experience in diabetic care, especially carb counting for young children
• Ventilator and tracheostomy certification or hands-on experience highly preferred
• Previous school nursing experience highly preferred
• Bilingual skills highly valued to serve a diverse student body

What You’ll Do:

• Deliver district-wide nursing support to TK-8 students, ensuring their daily health and safety needs are met
• Provide specialized diabetes management for students, including hands-on insulin administration and carb counting education
• Collaborate closely with other school nurses and educational staff to develop and implement care plans
• Respond to medical emergencies, administer medications, and provide first aid as needed
• Offer necessary ventilator and tracheostomy care for individual students, supporting their access to learning
• Maintain accurate medical documentation and communicate with families as needed
