School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Simi Valley, California

Shape the well-being of students across the district as a Registered Nurse providing expert care in an engaging school environment. This essential nursing position supports Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade students, collaborating closely with school staff to ensure each student’s health needs are met.

Schedule:

• Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver general nursing care district-wide to TK–8 students
• Support students with diabetes, including insulin administration and carb counting, especially for younger children
• Assist with acute and chronic medical needs, including emergencies
• Collaborate effectively with school nurses, teachers, and families to develop and implement care plans
• Provide education on health management to students, families, and staff
• Maintain accurate health records and documentation
• Respond calmly to urgent situations, including those requiring vent or trach interventions if qualified

Desired Qualifications:

• Current California RN license required
• Strong experience in diabetic care, especially carb-counting in pediatric populations
• Ventilator and tracheostomy experience or certification highly preferred
• Previous school nursing experience highly preferred
• Bilingual skills highly preferred to enhance communication with students and families
• Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration abilities
