School Registered Nurse | Thousand Oaks, California

Make a meaningful impact in a school district setting, providing essential health services to students from transitional kindergarten through eighth grade. This contract role offers the opportunity to work district-wide, supporting a compassionate and collaborative team focused on student health and well-being.

Schedule:

• Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Key Qualifications:

• Current, valid RN license
• Demonstrated expertise in diabetic care, particularly carb counting for young children
• Previous experience in a school nursing environment highly preferred
• Strong collaborative skills, able to work closely with school nurses and other professionals
• Ventilator and tracheostomy experience or certification highly preferred
• Bilingual abilities highly preferred

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver a broad range of nursing services to students across multiple school sites within the district
• Provide daily support for students with diabetes, including monitoring, medication administration, and nutritional oversight
• Assist students with additional medical needs, ensuring care plans and medication administration guidelines are followed
• Educate students, staff, and families on health protocols and chronic conditions as needed
• Maintain detailed health records and coordinate with school medical teams
• Actively communicate with parents, teachers, and healthcare professionals to address student needs
