Seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to support a dynamic school population spanning TK through Grade 8. This contract role involves providing essential health services district-wide in a collaborative educational environment, helping ensure all students receive the care they need during the school day.
Schedule:
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver general nursing support to students and staff across multiple school sites within the district
- Address immediate and ongoing medical needs, including administering medications, first aid, and routine care
- Assist students with diabetes management, including carb counting, medication administration, and glucose monitoring
- Collaborate closely with other school nurses and educational staff to maintain coordinated student care plans
- Support students with respiratory needs, especially those requiring tracheostomy or ventilator assistance (vent and trach certification or prior experience highly preferred)
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment for students with a diverse range of medical needs
- Maintain accurate health records and communicate effectively with parents, teachers, and healthcare providers
- Adapt communication and care strategies for bilingual student populations (bilingual skills highly preferred)
Qualifications:
- Active and unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Strong clinical experience in diabetic care, especially working with children and developing plans for carb counting
- Previous experience in a school health or pediatric setting is highly desirable
- Ventilator and tracheostomy management experience or certification is highly preferred
- Bilingual abilities are a significant plus
- Strong communication and collaborative skills
