Make an important impact on student health by supporting a district-wide school community, providing essential care and guidance for TK-8 students and collaborating with dedicated school nurses. This contract role offers a consistent weekday schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Key Qualifications:

  • Current, unencumbered RN license
  • Robust experience managing diabetes care for pediatric students, including hands-on knowledge of carb counting for young children
  • Ventilator and tracheostomy experience or certification highly preferred
  • Previous nursing experience in a school setting strongly valued
  • Bilingual language skills are a significant plus

Core Responsibilities:

  • Deliver general nursing services, responding to acute and chronic health needs of students across multiple schools in the district
  • Provide specialized diabetes care, including insulin administration, glucose monitoring, and education for students, families, and staff
  • Collaborate closely with school nurses, teachers, and other staff, ensuring coordinated, compassionate care for those with medical needs
  • Administer medications and treatments according to school protocols, and maintain accurate health records
  • Support students with disabilities or complex health concerns, including those with ventilator and tracheostomy requirements if present in the student population
  • Promote a safe environment by participating in health education and supporting wellness initiatives throughout the schools

This role offers competitive pay between $35 and $45 per hour, commensurate with experience and certifications.
