This 13-week contract places you at the heart of a high-acuity PCU/Oncology/MedSurg unit, exposing you to a broad spectrum of workplace practices and leadership styles. Here, your professional growth is inevitable: you'll collaborate with seasoned charge nurses, support teams of PT/OT, case managers, social work, and dieticians, and treat complex cases in oncology and trauma. This hospital emphasizes a culture of mutual respect and teamwork, valuing the compassion and positivity that every nurse brings.

Schedule / Hours:

  • 36 hours per week
  • 12-hour shifts (AM/PM/Nights: 7a–7p, 7p–7a)
  • Every other weekend required
  • Self-scheduling for work-life balance

Essential Qualifications:

  • Active RN license
  • Minimum 1 year of PCU and/or Oncology experience
  • BLS, ACLS required; ONS/ONCC Chemo Certification required
  • NIHSS preferred
  • Passing score on open-book skills exam (90% required)
  • Genuine team player with a patient-centered focus
  • Comfortable floating between PCU and MedSurg units
  • Must live >50 miles from facility; driver's license required for verification
  • Compliance with strict fingernail policy

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver expert care to adult Oncology and Trauma patients
  • Titrate drips (e.g., insulin, cardizem), administer chemotherapy safely
  • Utilize advanced equipment (ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, lifts)
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams for holistic patient support
  • Participate in hourly rounding, actively promote positive patient experiences
