Schedule/Hours:
- Weekend rotation: Every other
- No call
- Holiday expectations: 75% coverage required (travelers)
- Up to 6 days approved scheduled time off (not including holidays), with flexibility to extend for contract fulfillment
- 6-week scheduling cycle
Qualifications & Experience:
- Active RN license, BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Minimum 18 months of recent PCU RN experience
- Experience with trach care, cardiac gtt, rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, central line management, blood product administration, and wound care
- Comfortable floating within regional facilities as needed
- Open to first-time travelers
- Familiarity with EMR (EPIC), IV Pump (Alaris), Med dispensing (Omnicell), and Phillips monitors preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a 1:4 RN-patient ratio (may flex to 1:5 based on acuity)
- Deliver care to diverse patient populations (e.g., CHF, dysrhythmia, stroke, respiratory illnesses, abdominal/renal conditions, diabetes, ETOH withdrawal)
- Collaborate with CNAs, phlebotomy, RT, hospitalists, and a supportive charge nurse
- Ensure continuity of care during float assignments, with on-the-clock compensation for transit
- Actively participate in orientation and maintain adherence to departmental policies
