Qualifications and Skills:
- Active, unencumbered RN license
- Minimum of one year recent experience in stepdown or progressive care unit
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making abilities
- Advanced communication and interpersonal skills for patient and family education
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications
- Experience in monitoring and managing patients requiring complex interventions
- Familiarity with electronic medical records and charting
- Ability to work collaboratively with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to stepdown patients requiring close observation and interventions
- Monitor vital signs, assess changes in condition, and respond promptly to evolving patient needs
- Administer medications and manage IV infusions as directed
- Support physicians and other providers during procedures and emergencies
- Educate patients and families about care plans, discharge instructions, and ongoing health needs
- Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately using electronic health records
- Uphold a safe, supportive, and patient-centered environment at all times
- Adapt to a fast-paced setting, prioritizing multiple patients and complex tasks
