Stepping onto the Progressive Care/Stepdown Unit, you'll gain exposure to a truly diverse group of patients, including cardiac, neuro, respiratory, and medically complex cases. Collaborate with accomplished interdisciplinary teams, enhance your leadership abilities, and expand your clinical skills in evidence-based care and advanced respiratory modalities. As a travel nurse on this assignment, you’ll broaden your resume with hands-on experience in a dynamic, well-organized setting, while enjoying professionally rewarding and memorable adventures outside your shift.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 12-week assignment
  • Varied shifts (typical patient ratios: Days 1:4–5, Nights 1:5—subject to adjustment)

Qualifications:

  • Valid RN license (multistate compact accepted)
  • Minimum of 2 years recent SDU/IMCU experience
  • Ventilation management in IMC setting required
  • Proven travel nursing experience
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Strong assessment, multi-tasking, and communication skills
  • Dysrhythmia exam completion (study guide provided)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive assessments, develop care plans, and evaluate patient progress
  • Safely administer medications and IV drips (Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, Heparin, Lasix, bumex)
  • Respond to rapidly changing conditions with confidence and clinical judgment
  • Effectively coordinate with interdisciplinary teams and family members
  • Mentor and educate peers, support quality improvement initiatives
  • Deliver compassionate, age-appropriate care to adult and geriatric populations
