Qualifications and Experience:
- Current and unrestricted RN license.
- Previous nursing experience in stepdown or intermediate care units is essential.
- Strong foundational knowledge of patient assessment, monitoring, and advanced interventions.
- Demonstrated ability to provide skilled care to patients transitioning from critical care.
- Proficient with cardiac monitoring and post-acute care protocols.
- Collaborative mindset, excellent communication, and the ability to adapt to changing patient needs.
- BLS and ACLS certifications required.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor, assess, and manage patients in a stepdown setting, intervening rapidly when changes occur.
- Implement care plans, administer medications, and ensure all physician orders are carried out accurately.
- Utilize advanced monitoring equipment and interpret vital signs to detect patient changes early.
- Provide ongoing education and emotional support to patients and their families during the recovery process.
- Document patient assessments, treatments, and progress according to regulatory and hospital guidelines.
- Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and ancillary staff, contributing to multidisciplinary care planning.
- Participate in safety and quality improvement initiatives within the unit.
