Advance your nursing career with a travel RN position in a busy, Magnet-certified Cardiac Stepdown unit at a large academic medical center. This role offers the chance to work in a fast-paced environment focused on providing outstanding patient care in a nationally recognized setting.
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Active and unrestricted RN license
- Minimum of 2 years of recent stepdown or cardiac stepdown experience
- BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
- Strong cardiac monitoring, assessment, and critical thinking skills
- Previous experience in high-acuity, fast-paced hospital units strongly preferred
- Ability to quickly adapt to new protocols and electronic charting systems
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and patient advocacy abilities
- Travel nursing experience is a plus
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver safe and comprehensive nursing care to patients with cardiac and high-acuity needs in a stepdown setting
- Monitor patients closely, respond promptly to changes in condition, and communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team
- Administer medications, manage complex IV drips, and perform frequent patient assessments
- Educate patients and families regarding cardiac care, recovery processes, and discharge planning
- Maintain accurate documentation and uphold hospital policies, Magnet standards, and quality initiatives
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapists, and other healthcare professionals to achieve optimal outcomes
- Maintain a patient-focused approach, demonstrating compassion and professionalism at all times
