Deliver essential nursing care to stepdown patients in a dynamic and supportive environment. This contract opportunity is ideal for experienced Registered Nurses adept at managing complex patient needs while collaborating within a multidisciplinary team. The position emphasizes safe, age-specific care for patients and families, fostering optimal health outcomes through the nursing process.
Schedule/Hours:
- Contract-based assignment
Qualifications:
- Current RN license in good standing
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and NIH Stroke certification required
- Previous experience in a stepdown unit or similar acute care setting is strongly preferred
- Able to work within a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:5/1:6
- Clinical flexibility with a willingness to float to different inpatient care areas as needed
- Strong technical nursing skills, with demonstrated ability to achieve positive care outcomes
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills and a commitment to effective team collaboration
Responsibilities:
- Provide age-appropriate, relationship-based nursing care to a diverse patient population
- Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care
- Document patient data, responses, and progress accurately and thoroughly
- Collaborate with physicians, allied health team members, and other nursing staff to optimize patient care
- Float to inpatient areas, including stepdown, medical, surgical, and emergency department settings, as the needs of the hospital require
- Prioritize patient safety and demonstrate sound clinical judgment in all situations
- Engage in ongoing professional development and contribute to a culture of clinical excellence
- Exhibit leadership by influencing effective clinical and operational outcomes
