PCU/Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) | Corning, New York

Seeking a skilled RN with experience in Stepdown and Telemetry nursing for a contract assignment. This dynamic position involves caring for patients in a stepdown setting, where the ability to respond effectively to patient needs and collaborate as part of a care-focused team is essential. Candidates will work primarily night shifts, providing expert clinical care while maintaining open communication with staff and patients.

Schedule:

• 3 x 12-hour shifts, Nights

Key Qualifications:

• Active RN license
• Recent experience in Stepdown or Telemetry units
• ACLS certification required
• Proficient in patient assessment, medication administration, and creation of care plans
• Comfortable with physical aspects of bedside care, including pushing, pulling, and lifting
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Responsibilities:

• Manage and monitor patients in a stepdown environment, supporting stability and recovery
• Safely administer medications and carry out physician orders
• Conduct thorough assessments and develop individualized care plans
• Work efficiently with a patient ratio of 3:1 (stepdown) and adjust to 5:1 (day shift) and 6:1 (night shift) as needed
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain detailed documentation and communicate key changes in patient status
