This travel RN role will place you within a large, progressive medical center’s stepdown and oncology PCU units. You’ll gain exposure to diverse leadership styles and a wide range of patient populations, allowing you to hone your clinical and teamwork skills. Your performance will help further your resume, all while experiencing firsthand the importance of compassion and adaptability in high-acuity and culturally rich settings.
Schedule/Hours:
- 13-week contract, 36 hours/week
- 12-hour shifts (day/night), every other weekend required
- Self-scheduling available
Desired Qualifications:
- Active RN license, BLS, ACLS, and ONS/ONCC Chemo certification required
- NIHSS certification
- At least 1 year PCU and oncology experience
- Genuine desire to provide exceptional care with a positive attitude
- Comfortable with float assignments within the same level of care
Key Duties:
- Care for adult oncology and trauma patients in a 27-28 bed mixed PCU/MedSurg unit
- Titrate medications including chemotherapy, heparin, and cardizem
- Collaborate with charge nurses, nursing assistants, and additional support staff (PT/OT, case managers, etc.)
- Maintain compliance with policies (e.g., artificial fingernail restriction)
- Participate in real-time training for advanced monitoring and equipment (e.g., ventilator, CVP)
- Support patients and families throughout the cancer journey, showing respect for diverse cultures and beliefs
