As a Progressive Care/Stepdown RN in Eastern Nebraska’s premier medical center, you’ll work on a dynamic, mixed-acuity 28-bed unit with a focus on oncology and trauma populations. This opportunity promises outstanding exposure to varied patient diagnoses, leading-edge equipment, and high-acuity protocols. Schedule:
- 13-week assignment
- 36 hours per week
- 12-hour shifts: choose from day (7a–7p), mid, evening, or night shifts
- Every other weekend required
- Self-scheduling for flexibility
Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- Minimum 1 year PCU and/or oncology experience
- Chemo certification (ONS/ONCC) required
- ACLS and BLS certifications required
- NIHSS preferred
- Open to first-time travelers
- Willingness to assist with hourly rounding and diversity of patient backgrounds
- Team-oriented attitude and dedication to quality patient care
- Must pass an open-book clinical skills exam during orientation (90%+ required)
- Must comply with strict nail hygiene (no artificial nails)
Responsibilities:
- Care for adult oncology and trauma patients in PCU/Med Surg setting
- Titrate drips such as chemotherapy, heparin, and cardizem
- Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team
- Utilize EPIC EMR and operate Alaris IV pumps, Lyko lifts
- Float within similar levels of care as needed
