Deliver advanced, patient-centered nursing care as a valued member of the stepdown unit on a contract assignment. In this role, you will provide safe, efficient, and age-appropriate nursing interventions, utilizing your expertise in the nursing process to help patients and families achieve and maintain optimal health. You'll deliver effective, relationship-based care, demonstrating technical proficiency and sound clinical judgment that lead to safe practices and positive patient outcomes.
Schedule/Hours:
- Contract position with flexible scheduling (details provided during interview)
- Float as needed to inpatient areas within the healthcare system
Qualifications:
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
- Experience in stepdown/telemetry unit preferred
- Strong technical and clinical assessment skills
- Ability to manage a patient load with nurse/patient ratios of 1:5 or 1:6
- Effective communicator with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team members
Responsibilities:
- Utilize the nursing process (assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation) to deliver evidence-based care
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
- Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions and changes, collaborating with the care team for optimal outcomes
- Support patient and family education to promote health, recovery, and self-care
- Float to various inpatient areas (stepdown, medical, surgical, and emergency units) as operational needs require
- Adhere to infection control protocols and organizational policies
