Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) - Farmville, NC

Experienced registered nurses with a background in stepdown care are invited to take on an engaging contract assignment caring for patients with diverse, complex needs. This position offers a supportive clinical environment where your advanced assessment and priority-setting skills are valued and developed.

Schedule/Hours:

• 36 hours per week

Qualifications:

• Active RN license in good standing
• At least one year of current experience in a Stepdown or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting
• Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
• Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team
• Proficiency in electronic medical records is preferred
• BLS and ACLS certifications required

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct patient care for individuals transferring from intensive care who require close monitoring
• Conduct thorough assessments, monitor vital signs, and promptly recognize clinical changes
• Administer medications, manage complex IV drips, and assist with bedside procedures
• Educate patients and families on care plans and recovery steps
• Collaborate proactively with physicians, physical therapists, and other care team members to ensure continuity of care
• Accurately document medical interventions and patient progress in the EMR system
• Respond swiftly and effectively in urgent or emergent situations
