Deliver specialized nursing care as an RN in a Stepdown unit delivering adult and adolescent patient support on a 55-bed PCU. This role involves managing complex cases such as CVA, TIA, respiratory distress, and post-surgical recovery, utilizing skills in telemetry monitoring, IV medication administration, and patient-centered care coordination.

Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to primarily adult patients, occasionally including those 15 years and older
- Administer and monitor therapies, including PCA pumps, cardizem, and insulin
- Utilize EPIC EMR and Alaris IV pump systems effectively
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including educators, care managers, social workers, dieticians, PT, and OT
- Maintain unit standards such as hourly rounding and responsiveness to enhance patient experience
- Participate in float responsibilities within the medical-surgical areas as needed
- Adhere to strict unit protocols including crisis management and professional appearance standards
Qualifications and Experience:
- Active RN license with current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Experience in telemetry and Stepdown care preferred
- Strong competency with electronic medical records (EPIC) and IV pump operation
- Ability to pass a 90% scoring open book skills exam during orientation
- Valid driver’s license within 50 miles radius of Fremont, NE
- Willingness to comply with unit-specific policies including fingernail regulations
Shift Details:
- 12-hour shifts (0630-1830 or 1830-0630) with every other weekend coverage
- Navy blue scrubs required; CNA support available on the unit

Candidates must not currently hold full-time, part-time, or PRN status with any facilities affiliated with CommonSpirit Health, CHI, or Dignity health systems.
