This travel RN role in a progressive care (stepdown) setting not only expands your clinical expertise by exposing you to diverse patient populations and fast-paced environments, but also accelerates your professional growth through collaboration with experienced leaders and dedicated teams. With exposure to region-wide best practices, you'll enhance your skills in clinical care and broaden your nursing resume through hands-on experience with complex cases in a dynamic hospital network.

Schedule/Hours:

  • Schedule cycle: Every 6 weeks
  • Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
  • Possibility of low census call; on-call up to 3a (Nights) or 3p (Days)
  • Holiday expectations: Work 75% of holidays

Qualifications/Experience:

  • Minimum 18 months of recent PCU RN experience
  • Will consider first-time travelers
  • Active RN license in state of practice
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
  • Proven competency in cardiac drips/gtts, rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care, central line management
  • Comfortable with floating among multiple regional facilities as needed

Responsibilities:

  • Care for patients with diagnoses such as CHF, dysrhythmias, chest pain, stroke, respiratory illnesses, diabetes, and more
  • Manage a patient load of 1:4 (typical), up to 1:5 based on acuity
  • Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary teams, including charge nurses, CNAs, phlebotomists, RT, hospitalists, intensivists, and telemonitoring specialists
  • Utilize EPIC EMR and operate standard medical technology (Alaris pumps, Omnicell dispensing, Phillips monitors)
