Exciting contract opportunity available for an experienced Registered Nurse to provide specialized care within a Respiratory Step Down Unit. This role focuses on managing respiratory-focused, vent-dependent patients in a dynamic medical environment. Nurses do not manage ventilators directly, as Respiratory Therapists handle vents. The unit features 36 beds in the Respiratory Care Unit and 38 beds in the Respiratory Step-Down Unit. The schedule consists of 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM, with every other weekend required.

Qualifications:
- Active RN license with at least 1-2 years of nursing experience
- Background in respiratory/vented patient care strongly preferred
- Prior travel assignment experience is desirable
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Experience in stepdown or similar high-acuity units beneficial
- Experience with trach care, suctioning, wound care, and IV management preferred
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care to respiratory stepdown and chronic care patients
- Float to related chronic care units (RCU, RCU2, SDU, and TRU), as required
- Potentially work in multiple units during a single 12-hour shift
- Perform IV starts, manage drips, administer blood, complete EKGs, titrate medications, and monitor glucose
- Conduct wound vac changes, wound dressing (complex/simple), trach care, suctioning, straight cath/foley care, port access, and central line dressing
- Document patient notes accurately and adhere to unit protocols
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes

$1,895 - $2,074/Week Estimated weekly earnings represent hourly wages, based on 36 hours per week, and expense reimbursement for eligible candidates. The actual amount may vary based on hours worked, eligibility for reimbursements, and seasonal adjustments.
