Stepdown Registered Nurse - Norfolk, Virginia

Key Qualifications:

• Current, unrestricted RN license
• Minimum of one year recent experience in a stepdown or progressive care environment
• Proven ability to assess, monitor, and respond to patients’ changing conditions
• Proficient in using critical care technology and electronic health records
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills

Schedule:

• Variable shifts, including potential weekend and holiday rotations
• Flexibility to work day or night shifts preferred

Primary Duties:

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients transferring from critical care to med-surg floors
• Monitor and interpret vital signs, administer medications, and perform complex assessments
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and update care plans
• Act quickly in response to changes in patient conditions, ensuring timely interventions
• Educate patients and families about ongoing care and discharge needs
• Document all care activities accurately and promptly
