This assignment in a prominent Eastern Nebraska medical center places you at the heart of advanced patient care. Collaborate with skilled multidisciplinary teams in a busy 27-bed PCU, Oncology, and MedSurg unit. You’ll gain hands-on experience treating complex cases—particularly oncology and trauma—supported by robust training resources and leadership that values professional development, teamwork, and a culture of respect. Here’s your chance to diversify your clinical experience, learn from diverse colleagues, and further develop your skills with real-time training in ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, and chemotherapy administration.
Schedule & Shifts:
- 13-week contract, 36 hours per week
- 12-hour shifts (multiple start times: day, evening, and night options)
- Every other weekend required
- Self-scheduling for flexibility
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Current RN license
- BLS and ACLS certifications; ONS/ONCC chemo certification required
- Minimum 1 year PCU and oncology experience (first-time travelers are welcome)
- Successful completion of open-book skills exam (minimum 90%)
- NIHSS certification
- Driver’s license (for radius verification)
- Willingness to remove artificial nails per policy
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-acuity care for PCU, Oncology, and MedSurg patients
- Administer and titrate medications including chemotherapy, insulin, and cardizem
- Collaborate with a supportive team including charge nurses, PT/OT, RN case managers, social work, and dieticians
- Float between PCU and MedSurg units as needed
- Utilize EMR (EPIC) and advanced IV and specialty equipment
