Schedule/Hours:
- 13-week contract
- 36 hours/week
- 12-hour shifts: Days 7a-7p, Evenings 3p-11p, Nights 7p-7a
- Every other weekend required
- Self-scheduling for flexibility
Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- Minimum 1 year recent PCU or oncology experience
- BLS and ACLS certifications required
- ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- Previous charge experience preferred (min 1 year)
- Valid driver’s license (for compliance with radius requirements)
- Willingness to float to MedSurg and PCU units
- Team player, dedicated to patient-centered care
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a mixed oncology and trauma PCU unit (nurse-to-patient ratio 1:4 in PCU, 1:5 MedSurg)
- Care for adults with complex medical needs, including chemotherapy and trauma patients
- Titrate medications including insulin, heparin, and occasional Cardizem drips
- Utilize ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring equipment, and Alaris pumps
- Collaborate with PT/OT, case managers, social workers, and dietitians
- Ensure safe patient transfers with advanced lift equipment
- Deliver compassionate end-of-life and curative oncology care
- Maintain compliance with facility policies (e.g., no artificial nails)
