Stepdown Unit Registered Nurse (RN) in Overland Park, KS

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Current RN license in good standing
• 1-2 years of recent Stepdown or PCU nursing experience
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications
• Proficiency in interpreting cardiac rhythms and titrating intravenous medications
• Strong critical thinking and assessment skills
• Collaborative mindset and experience working closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems

Typical Responsibilities:

• Assess, monitor, and document changes in patient condition, performing frequent reassessments
• Administer medications, manage drips, and provide ventilator support as appropriate
• Respond swiftly and appropriately to emergencies or deteriorating patient conditions
• Educate patients and their families about diagnoses, procedures, and post-discharge care
• Utilize evidence-based nursing practices to improve patient outcomes
• Act as an advocate for patient safety and support overall quality standards
