As a valued member of the Progressive Care Unit in a 15-bed environment, you’ll be immersed in best practices for both stepdown ICU and telemetry care. This assignment is ideal for RNs seeking to broaden their resume with high-acuity experience and to explore varied nursing responsibilities in an engaging, multicultural setting. Schedule/Hours:
- 36 hours per week following an orientation week
- No on-call duty
- Must arrive the Thursday before your start date for pre-employment health screening
- Flexibility to float to other acute units as needed (Medical, Surgical/Peds, ICU, ER)
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Active RN license (Hawaii license required by assignment start; assistance with licensure application available upon offer acceptance)
- Minimum 1 year of recent acute hospital care; progressive care and telemetry experience preferred
- ACLS preferred, PALS preferred, NIHSS preferred
- Proficient with telemetry monitoring, strip reading, blood sugar fingersticks
- Prior experience with Meditech, Pyxis, BIPAP, and continuous cardiac monitoring
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct patient care in both stepdown ICU and telemetry
- Perform and interpret telemetry monitoring and fingerstick blood sugars
- Administer medications safely using Pyxis
- Accurately document using Meditech
- Float to various departments as needed
