As a Stepdown/PCU Registered Nurse on this travel assignment, you’ll embrace meaningful professional growth within a diverse, dynamic setting that fosters a spirit of teamwork and compassion. Collaborate with highly skilled colleagues, learn leadership best practices, and gain exposure to a wide range of patient populations—especially those requiring PCU and specialized oncology care.

Schedule/Hours:

  • 13-week contract
  • 36 hours/week
  • 12-hour shifts (variety: 7a-7p, 7p-7a, and partial shifts)
  • Every other weekend
  • Self-scheduling for flexibility

Required Qualifications:

  • Active RN license
  • BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (ONS/ONCC chemo certification required)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent PCU and oncology nursing experience
  • Ability to pass an open-book clinical exam during orientation (90% passing score)
  • Experience with EMR systems (EPIC experience preferred, not required)
  • Willingness to float between PCU and MedSurg units as needed
  • Commitment to teamwork, empathy, and embracing cultural and belief diversity
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to comply with a 50-mile radius rule
  • Compliance with health, safety, and appearance policies (e.g., natural fingernails only)

Role Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality nursing care to oncology and trauma stepdown patients
  • Titrate drips (e.g., insulin, cardizem)
  • Use specialty equipment (e.g., ventilators, Alaris/IV pumps, Lyko lifts)
  • Participate in hourly rounding and foster positive patient experiences
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including PT/OT, social work, educators, and dietitians
  • Support patient journeys from diagnosis through remission and palliative stages
