Travel Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) - Shawnee, KS

Schedule:

• 12-hour night shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (three shifts/week)
• Every other weekend required
• Minimal holiday coverage, including July 4th

Role Overview: Stepdown nurses in this setting handle high-acuity patients, frequently managing their own consultations and responding to codes independently. You’ll rotate through various inpatient units—from ICU and Med/Surg to Acute/Tele and ED—truly broadening your clinical perspective.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver expert care to stepdown patients, including those with complex, critical needs.
• Manage CRRT, non-invasive ventilation (Bipaps), lab draws, chest tubes, and PICCs independently.
• Float to ICU and other inpatient units as needed to support fluctuating census.
• Respond to codes and emergencies confidently and autonomously.
• Utilize EPIC for efficient documentation and communication.

Desired Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years’ recent critical care/ICU experience.
• Current KS or Compact RN license.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Strong familiarity with procedures and technology used in stepdown and ICU settings.
• Previous experience with no vascular access team preferred.
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR is a plus.
• Able to attend comprehensive orientation onsite and virtually.
