Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) in Shawnee, KS

Qualifications and Experience:

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Stepdown and/or Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Proficient with monitoring vital signs, managing cardiac drips, and providing care for patients requiring frequent assessments
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork abilities
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to patient safety and quality care

Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized nursing care for acutely ill adults transitioning from intensive care
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms, administer medications, and manage complex patient needs
• Collaborate closely with physicians, care teams, and families to create and implement care plans
• Document accurately and thoroughly in the electronic health record system
• Respond promptly to changes in patient conditions and initiate appropriate interventions
• Educate patients and their families regarding care protocols and discharge instructions
• Uphold all protocols, safety practices, and regulatory standards
