Travel PCU/Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) | Shelby, North Carolina

Schedule/Hours:

• Weekend rotation: Every other weekend
• Schedule cycle: Every 6 weeks
• Call: Possibility of low census call, with potential call back (Nights up to 3 a.m., Days up to 3 p.m.)
• Holidays: Expectation to work 75% of holidays
• Up to 6 days off (excluding holidays)

Qualifications:

• Active RN licensure
• Minimum 18 months of recent PCU/Stepdown RN experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
• Proficiency with tracheostomy care, cardiac drips, rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, wound care, central line management, and blood product administration
• Comfortable with floating as needed within regional facilities

Responsibilities:

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care for a variety of complex patient populations (e.g., CHF, dysrhythmia, stroke, diabetes, renal and hepatic issues)
• Accurately interpret cardiac rhythms and manage cardiac drips
• Collaborate within an interdisciplinary team including CNAs, charge nurses, hospitalists, intensivists, RTs, and phlebotomists
• Utilize Epic, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell med dispensing, and Phillips monitoring technology
• Engage in orientation and participate in departmental meetings as required
